Planting Caladium Seeds:
Soaking Seeds: To increase germination rates, soak the seeds for 4 to 24 hours. This helps improve germination rates. Soaking seeds in warm water, no higher than 60 degrees Celsius, can also be done to accelerate germination before sowing.
Choosing Soil: Loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil is beneficial for germination and growth of Caladium. Leaf mold, garden soil, or nutrient soil are common soil options for Caladium.
Sowing: Evenly spread the selected seeds on the soil surface, lightly covering them with two to three centimeters of soil.
Watering: Water the soil promptly after sowing to maintain soil moisture, which promotes germination. Avoid washing the seeds away or soaking them in water, as this can affect germination.
Germination and Growth: Seeds begin to germinate approximately 5-6 days after sowing. During the growth process, maintain soil moisture and fertilize regularly to ensure the nutrient supply necessary for Caladium growth.
